Rocking hair

Home again, at last.

Check out my new hair! As my locks tend to grow in very rapid speed I'm expecting to have my old look back in about three weeks time, but in the mean time I'm enjoying myself.

This little trick is to demonstrate how different it looks with some minimal adjustments.

Thierry Mugler: Alien EdP

I have tried to find the perfect perfume for me for a small eternity now. I wanted it to be deep, rich, complicated, mysterious, a bit dark and overwhelming... And it has to last on my skind forever. Don't you just hate it when most things you put on just vanish in the air in 30 minutes? And really vanish, disappear, so no-one can smell it?

So, after months of back and forth and trying on Thierry Mugler's Alien, I finally decided to get it for myself.

What an extraordinary bottle!

Sephora.com describes Alien's notes: "Solar Accord, Jasmine Sambac, Green Notes, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Transparent Amber". The solar accord part is just nonsense, but the rest of the notes are just to my liking. It is exactly what I was looking for. And get this: the bottle and the adverts and the name are all about science fiction - it is so me. AND my man actually likes it too. That is very rare, he usually dislikes or can't make up his mind, so it's a big deal if he actually likes a scent. :D

Alien is so intense that you really gotta be careful with that. 1-2 sprits is the absolute max, no joke. It's just on the verge if it's headache inducing or not, for me, not. It wants to suck you in and propably eat your brain, so you gotta be in control of it. It's an interesting scent too - it can be warm or cool, fresh or sugary, depending on your mood, the atmosphere and what you want it to be. So amazing!

Looks a bit like Kosh screaming from Babylon 5. Also reminds me of World of Warcraft zone Netherstorm... So sci-fi!

P.s. 6 reasons why I’m dumping my iPhone for a Nokia N900. :P I don't have an iPhone, but I would really love to have Nokia N900.

Two becomes one

Hola! The year ended and started, so happy New Year everyone! I haven't made any promises last year, so I will continue this and promise absolutely nothing.

I've been on different places during Christmas and the following celebrations, I have had very little clothing with me. Mostly black dresse and tunics (Got three of them with me) which I switch bac and forth, plus tons of woolen tights, black and gray cardigan and Thelma wedges. With these I have been able to dress myself for the past two weeks.

I have also straightened my hair from time to time!

And look what I did with my cardigans. Be amazed, optical illusion when two becomes one!

Yule

I find myself enjoying the X-mas more than I thought I would. Yay!

Here's some pics I took while trying to entertain myself between movies and eating.

"To Maria from an imaginery being: Santa" (My boyfriend)

And here's some the lovely presents I got! Whoa, I've been nice this year.

xmas things 16

There's some black velvet apricot products from The Body Shop, some chocolate, woolen mittens and plenty of books! My grandma gave me a book about moomins and how they connect to great philosophic thinkers such as Kierkegaard and Sartre.

My boyfriend gave me awsome books: my favourite comedian and idol George Carlin's Braindroppings is filled with humorous remarks about things, in a guaranteed carlinish manner. I'm going to love this so much. Then there's The Crow -graphic novel by J. O´Barr, The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins and God Is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens. Both classics already. How very convinient, it's not really even the real birthday of this fictional messiah character called Jesus. Wasn't even the right season of the year. But since the pagans liked to celebrate the mid-winter all around Europe, from Saturnalia to Yule and have a big feast, why shouldn't the church also, especially while trying to convert everyone to Christianity. So copy and paste and tadaa, a "Christian" holiday was born. How very convinient.

Christmas tree - there's nothing Christian about its origin. Just some twisted mind fuck by all the priests and religious people who try to convince all the other people that without them and their beliefs there wouldn't be any celebration for the rest of us. I call that BS. Big time.

What was I talking about? Oh yes, the presents... ;D

On top of these wonderful things I also got this wonderful woolen knit cardigan from my grandma. I had wished for this for a looong time! Filippa K rocks.

Not looking forward to it

I'm not really a X-mas person, I hate all the fuss and shouldas. I'd be happy to spend my holiday completley alone since my boyfriend has to attend to his familys get-together. Of course I'd be welcomed to join them, and prolly I would, but I have to go to and spend some time with my relatives. Don't really even care about most of them. Actually I hate most of my relatives. But hey, "It's Christmas, of course you have to love each and every one of them for a whole week and pretend they don't drive you on the verge of insanity!" I don't buy it. There's a reason why we don't see each other other than this holiday.

I'll most likely spend my Christmas eating chocolate and cheese and getting drunk with my best mate red wine and trying to ignore everyone else. What a lovely holiday.
